The USA won the men's 4x100M freestyle relay with a time of 3:09:92, giving the sport's poster boy and the most decorated Olympian of all time his 23rd medal. It's also the 19th Olympic gold medal for Michael Phelps.
Phelps swam second for the USA and started with a slight deficit behind France. He swam one of the fastest split times of the night — 47.12 seconds — and gave his team a lead they did not reliquish.
France earned silver in 3:10:53, and Australia followed in 3:11.37 to claim the bronze.
