Yiwu International Marathon 2016 Run Passionately

At 8:00 a.m. of Nov. 20, the Yiwubuy · Yiwu International Marathon 2016 themed on "Run! New Silk Road" was held. More than 11 thousand runners from 40 regions and countries started running from the Meihu Sports Center, mixing joy with sweat, combining enthusiasm with vigor, and becoming the strongest pulse of Yiwu.

The competition was hosted by the Chinese Athletics Association, Sports Bureau of Zhejiang Province, and People's Government of Yiwu and set with three events, namely, men's and women's half-marathons, men's and women's mini-marathons, and family fun race, whose starting points were all set at the Meihu Sports Center. A total of 11,208 runners signed up for the competition, among which 3,230 runners were for half-marathons (including 10 specially invited ones), 5,580 for mini-marathons, and 2,398 for family fun race; the oldest age was 80, and the youngest age 6; the runners were from 40 regions and countries, and 208 were foreigners. Meanwhile, the "Yiwu International Marathon" this year launched an online competition, i.e., the Online Yiwu Marathon, for the first time. On the same day of "Yiwu International Marathon 2016", a total of 198,736 road running lovers simultaneously run the competition via "Codoon". The live broadcast of entire competition was made by ZTV Film and TV Entertainment Channel and Yiwu TV News Channel, and the live photo-text and video broadcast was given by the official micro-blogs and WeChats respectively of Yiwu Release and Yiwu Commercial News.
