Yiwu's Import and Export Trades Taking on a Pattern of General Growth
As revealed by the data provided by Yiwu Customs, from Jan. to May this year, the total volume of imports and exports of Yiwu was 92.54 billion Yuan (RMB, the same below), with a year-on-year growth of 11.7%, among which the volume of exports was 91.25 billion Yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 11.3%, and the volume of imports was 1.29 billion Yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 51%. The single-month performance of May was particularly excellent: the city's total volume of imports and exports reached 24.14 billion Yuan, taking up nearly 30% of the total volume in the first five months and with a year-on-year growth of 11.7%, among which the volume of exports was 23.9 billion Yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 11.5%, and the volume of imports was 0.24 billion Yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 35.1%.
During Jan. -- May this year, under the influence of trade recovery around the globe, the import and export trades of Yiwu took on a pattern of general growth. According to Wang Haitao, a statistical expert of Yiwu Customs, Yiwu has been devoting itself to boosting the comprehensive reform of international trade and continuously stepping up the building of "the City of Commodities" in the world, and its import and export trades have been maintaining a stable development trend over 5 months, which is even expected to continue.
Since the beginning of this year, Yiwu has always been adhering to propelling the structural transformation of foreign trades by means of supply-side reform, and the constant improvement of market purchasing trade mode has been boosting the rapid growth of import and export trades of the city. In the total volume of exports of 91.25 billion Yuan from Jan. to May, market purchasing trades played a prominent leading role in exports, with volume reaching 76.23 billion Yuan, occupying 84% of the total. In the single month of May, the exports volume of market purchasing trades was 19.68 billion Yuan, accounting for 83% in the total volume of exports of 23.9 billion Yuan in that month.
