Post and Express Business Volume of Yiwu Ranking 6th in China
From Jan. to Nov. this year, the business income of Yiwu's whole post and express industry exceeded RMB 10 billion, with a year-on-year growth of over 70%, reaching RMB 10.438 billion, and ranking 6th by business volume among all cities in China. The rapidly-developing Yiwu express industry has become a highlight in the economic development of the city.
During Jan. -- Nov., the cross-border express business volume of Yiwu also rose steadily and reached 96.693 million pieces, with a year-on-year growth of 76.87%, and the business income reached RMB 1.111 billion, with a year-on-year growth of 36%. The destinations of expresses increased from merely a few, such as Russia, the US, and France, last year to 26 countries around the globe this year. From Jan. to Nov., the Mail Exchange Office of Yiwu accumulatively handled 40.42 million pieces of expresses, with an average daily handling volume of 120 thousand pieces. The office possessed automatic equipment for exported express handling that was leading in China and able to sort 20 thousand parcels per hour at the maximum. Only 10 minutes was needed at average from scanning, sorting, machine inspection, and customs clearance to loading of parcels. After inspection, cross-border parcels could directly arrive at the airport exit. The speed of small international postal parcels was increased by 1.53 days at average, and the stability of timeliness was significantly increased by 74%.
