The 1,000th Sino-Europe Train in 2017 Departed from Yiwu
At 16:30 on May 13, a Sino-Europe train (Yiwu-Madrid) consisting of 50 containers carrying apparel, hardware, household articles, and so on departed from West Yiwu Railway Station for Madrid, Spain 13 thousand km away. That was the 1,000th Sino-Europe train departing from China this year.
Since the beginning of 2017, 1,000 Sino-Europe trains have been dispatched, increasing by 612, namely 158%, compared to the same period last year. Merely within one week from Apr. 8 to 14, a total of 71 Sino-Europe trains were dispatched, which was a record high of the weekly quantity of dispatched trains. The route of Sino-Europe trains is considered as the "Silk Road" on rail. Since the beginning of this year, the first Sino-Europe train from Yiwu to London, the UK has been dispatched and two-way opening realized, playing an important role in promoting economic and trade exchanges between China and Europe and serving the enterprises and people in countries along the " Belt and Road".
